REVIEW| Hekalu Naturals

I was given the great opportunity to review some all-natural haircare products by a local entrepreneur recently, and I'm so excited to share with you all! The company name is Hekalu Naturals and the owner is SaMonna. When I received her email asking that I try and share these products, I was more than happy to do so. I LOVE LOVE LOVE homemade products AND I love QUALITY. The products I have been given to try were of great quality and I can't wait to make my first purchase soon.

I will be reviewing the following:

- Silky Shampoo Bar

- Moisturizing Hair Butter

- Body Soap

- Moisturizing Body Butter in Mango Papaya

Hekalu Naturals bars of soap contain: Shea butter, cocoa butter, and olive oil, which give the soap wonderful conditioning properties; and coconut oil, for its fine cleansing ability.

The Moisturizing Body Butter is loaded with skin loving ingredients: unrefined shea butter is used to reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks as well as improving skin irritations associated with psoriasis, eczema, and sunburn; jojoba oil is an excellent long lasting moisturizer; grape seed oil, which provides antioxidant properties, is beneficial in the treatment of eczema and is known for tightening pores and toning the skin. These are just a few of the high quality ingredients you can find in this rich body butter.

After using the bar soap in the shower, I was so pleased to find my skin felt clean but not stripped, and my skin was not dry afterward. I applied the body butter within 5 minutes of my shower (which is best to seal in as much moisture in your skin as possible) and my skin felt moisturized all day. And the mango papaya scent... GOODNESS!!!

Next, the hair products.
This was my first time using a shampoo bar, even though I've been natural close to 4 years now. Free from harmful preservatives, harsh detergents and toxins that are found in many commercial shampoos available today, the shampoo bar provides a healthy alternative for the hair and scalp. The verdict: I love this shampoo bar! My hair & scalp felt clean but not stripped. My hair was still soft and moisturized, which I loved. I don't really like for shampoos to get my hair squeaky clean because that means my hair has been stripped of necessary oils and my hair dries out a lot faster. This shampoo bar was perfect for me, just enough lather and the scent is very light and clean, not overpowering at all.

I used the Moisturizing Hair Butter to seal the moisture in my hair after detangling with my conditioner (Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose and Kinky Curly Knot Today Leave-In). The hair butter is light but very moisturizing and doesn't weigh my hair down. A little goes a long way, you don't need excessive amounts of it.
I put my hair in flat twists and let it air dry overnight.
The next day, my hair was very well moisturized but not weighed down or greasy. My twists were well-defined and fluffy. Here is a picture of my 2nd day hair using the Hekalu Naturals products:

I'm so happy to have tried these products and I will definitely be a loyal customer after this trial. Thank you, SaMonna!! And to my readers, if you try any of these products, let me know how you like them. The link again is www.hekalunaturals.com

Thanks for reading! xo

Oooh... that shampoo bar looks good! I need to try something like that because my hair gets dry too quickly and I usually hate shampooing (even sulfate free)
